"Karl L. King, An American Bandmaster" is a wonderful and informative biography of the great Karl King.
Thoroughly researched and beautifully written, this book traces King’s fascinating and rich life from his earliest years, through his nearly decade-long career as a circus musician, and his emergence on the American band scene as a beloved and prolific composer, conductor, and colorful figure. Originally published in 1975 and out of print for many years, it’s available once again through this new printing. Enjoyable reading for musicians and non-musicians. A "must" for band enthusiasts everywhere!
Judy and Johnny only wanted to play in the band. They never expected people to make fun of them because of the instruments they chose to play.
Since when were only boys allowed to play the tuba, or only girls allowed to play the flute, anyway? But Judy and Johnny refuse to let the bullies make them mad, and they quickly learn that the most important thing about playing in the band is learning to love and appreciate the gift of music. A great book which teaches many of life’s lesson for young students about to join the school band! 32 pages (paperback)
